In this article we see his life and work briefly sketched out. But through the gentleness and idealism of the main characters depicted in the short story Iosagân (Emmanuel) we glimpse the very soul of the artist Patrick H. Pearse. His message is full of hope. Pearse chose to write his short-stories in Irish. However, in order to give the French reader the opportunity to discover Pearse's world without having to go through the medium of English, Iosagân has been translated directly from the original Irish version.
