The detective cases of the Secret Order in the Russian State in 1654–1676

The article is devoted to the activities of one of the most important central authorities in the Russian state in the 17th c. - the Order of Secret Affairs, established by tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. The purpose of this article is to characterize the detective cases of the order during its existence - in 1654-1676. The source base was unpublished office documents from the fund 27 “The Order of Secret Affairs” of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts (Moscow), as well as the materials published in the Russian historical library, first of all, “The Census Book of Documents of the Order of Secret Affairs”, as well as the selection of documents entitled “On the Distribution of Documents of the Order of Secret Affairs by other Orders in 1676-1683”, and the most important monument of law - the Cathedral Code of 1649.
