Ability of Aspergillus niger to degradation of herbicide Topik EC100 (Clodinafop-propargyl)
View through CrossRef
Aspergillus niger was isolated from the soil field cultivated with wheat crop (Triticum astevium L.), which was treated with Topik EC 100 (Clodinafop-propargyl) herbicide in Al-Fuhud city, southeast of Thi-Qar Governorate-Iraq. Soil samples were collected at a depth of (0-15) cm for a period of 17 weeks, and the fungus were isolated from the soil by dilution method, the pH, electrical conductivity, organic matter, and soil texture were measured. the results showed that Aspergillus niger was dominant in this study, where the percentage of appearance was 94%. The fungus was treated with the active ingredient Clodinafop-propargyl of Topik EC100 herbicide in solid and liquid media (Mineral salt medium). The fungus showed its ability to grow in medium containing the active substance. the results showed that Aspergillus niger could biodegrade the active ingredient. The substances were measured by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy and Gas chromatography- mass spectroscopy, the results showed that biodegradation percentage of the active ingredient Clodinafop-propargyl at a concentration 0.01 ppm by Aspergillus niger was 96%.
