This chapter examines the rise and evolution of Russia’s YouTube sensation Yury Dud whose interviews and documentary films attract multi-million audiences. Mapping the origins of his YouTube channel and situating him in the larger Russian media scape the chapter looks into the reasons for his unprecedented popularity, explores his oppositionary politics and analyzes the style and rhetorical strategies of his important documentary productions such as Kolyma — Rodina nashego strakha / Kolyma – Birthplace of Our Fear (2019).
