Walking ensemble 'Sybille' consisting of a coat, skirt band, skirt and waist band of embroidered wool, designed by Jeanne Paquin, Paris, 1906. Walking ensemble consisting of a coat, skirt band, skirt and waist band of pale blue woollen face cloth.Knee-length coat with a princess line, edge to edge fastening, flaring slightly at the hips, and with a flat false box pleat at the centre back. It is collarless and the elbow length sleeves are cut in one with the shoulder. They have a curved stitched cuff of self material and a stitched over-cuff of the same shape in pale blue satin. Fastens with three sets of ties stitched inside the fronts, formed of knotted strands of pale blue braid. The fronts are edged with matching figured silk braid flanked by another piece running from waist to hem, and the back panel is similarly edged. The body of the coat has a design of matching blue silk narrow braid running in diagonal lines from the centre front and back with curved motifs on the breast, shoulders and centre back filled with zig zags. There are similar curved designs at the hips suggesting pocket flaps. The lines are interspaced with circular motifs containing pieces of the wide braid. Lined with white satin, and the fronts are faced with pale blue. Label stitched at the centre back neck.
