Al-Isti’arah wa Asraruha Al-Balaghiyah fi Qashidah “Al-Hamziyah Al-Nabawiyah” li Ahmad Syauqi (Dirasah Washfiyah Tahliliyah)

Abstract: Metaphor (Al-isti’arah) is a vital element of poetry, not merely a linguistic embellishment, but a creator of vivid imagery. It embodies abstract ideas and concisely and powerfully conveys complex emotions. Studying metaphor reveals hidden meanings, the poet's unique vision, and the beauty of poetic language. Ahmad Shawqi's ode "Al-Hamziyah Al-Nabawiyyah" is an Arabic poetic masterpiece in praise of the Prophet Muhammad. In this ode, Shawqi employs metaphor to depict the Prophet's greatness and the beauty of his attributes. This research aims to uncover the metaphors in Ahmad Shawqi's "Al-Hamziyah Al-Nabawiyyah" and their rhetorical secrets. The research uses a library study methodology, employing a qualitative approach with the effective application of descriptive analytical methods. The research found 57 instances of metaphor in this ode. Detailed by metaphor type, there are: 19(al-tashrihiyyah), 38(al-makniyyah), 32(al-asliyyah), 25(al-taba'iyyah), 2(al-murasyahhah), 4(al-mujarradah), and 51(al-mutlaqah). Based on the rhetorical secrets of metaphor, the findings are: 16 embodiment (tajsim), 24 personification (tasykhis), 15 clarification and eloquent expression (taudhih wa husn al-bayan), and 2 exaggeration (mubalaghah). The extensive use of metaphor in this ode is due to its ability as an accurate, touching, beautiful, and comprehensive method of expressing meaning.
