'Development of Foreign Language Discursive Competence in International Relations Specialty University Students'.

The purpose of the research is to identify the problems of discursive foreign language development competence among students of the first, second and third year of the MGIMO-Tashkent Branch. The research topic is relevant in modern pedagogy due to the fact that the modified and updated paradigm of higher education requires professional competence of specialists in the field of international relations, an integral part of which is fluency in a foreign language along with the norms of professional communication in a foreign language. The aim of the paper is to identify the issues of foreign language discursive competence development among students of international relations specialty on the basis of MGIMO-Tashkent Branch. Within the framework of the study, the students of the first, second and third year of study of private and civil law, as well as the analysis and modelling of programs of socio-economic processes on the basis of the Tashkent branch of MGIMO were interviewed, which in turn contributed to the determination of the indicator of the development of foreign language discursive competence of students, as well as to the identification of the problems of the formation of foreign language discursive competence of students of the specialty of international relations. The results of the study showed that students in all three courses have problems with professional and scientific discourse due to the lack of proper preparation and background knowledge. The main problems in the development of students' discursive competence in a foreign language are the insufficient number of lessons in the ESP and the lack of specialized literature, including scientific literature, as well as the lack of qualified teachers specializing in the ESP. The article contributes to the development of the theory and practice of pedagogy in higher education, supplementing and expanding the theoretical foundations for the development of foreign language discursive competence in the context of the training of lawyers and specialists in the field of business informatics.
