Antiphonary FM 1 from the Moravian Land Archive in Brno in the context of the late medieval Moravian manuscript and musical tradition

The study examines the late medieval Antiphonary FM 1 from the Moravian Land Archives in Brno, a manuscript that has received only marginal attention within Czech musicological scholarship. The primary aim of the paper is to investigate the manuscript's provenance, to reassess its dating, to evaluate its fundamental notational and content-related structures, and subsequently to situate the source within the context of Moravian musical culture at the turn of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. The analysis integrates findings from codicology, musical palaeography, and iconography, as well as the liturgical classification of selected chants. The study provides new evidence for the inclusion of Antiphonary FM 1 in late medieval Moravian liturgical and musical traditions and opens new perspectives for further research.
