III в. I тыс. э.) э.).
More than 18,000 square metres of area at the Medieval settlement of Kosh-Kuyu, located in Eastern Crimea, during the first stage of construction work for the Tavrida Highway Project, was given and archaeological excavation investigation. Over 18,000 square metres of area was studied. In addition to finding dwellings and domestic complexes from the Ottoman period, which had belonged to the Tatar settlement of Kosh-Kuyu, (16th to early 18th century AD), remains were found of a settlement from the Golden Horde period (turn of the 13th–14th centuries, to the earlier half of the 15th centuries) with 10 residential semi-dugout homes. In certain areas, traces of a large ancient settlement were discovered, from the end of the 6th century to the early 3rd century BC. These included the foundations of building, stonework pits, a water reservoir, a group of grain pits, and an ash hill with remains of sacrificial offerings. Some of the finds date to an earlier period – from the Late Bronze to Early Iron Age (from the 2nd to the early part of the 1st centiry BC), and even from the late Mesolithic and Neolithic periods (6th to 4th centuries BC).
