PENGENALAN ABREVIASI PADA MATA PELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA MELALUI NOVEL ANCIKA KARYA PIDI BAIQ

Learning Indonesian at the high school level expects students to be able to evaluate the linguistic rules of a text. One of these linguistic rules is about abbreviations. It is believed that the use of the novel Ancika in learning linguistic rules makes it easier for teachers to provide real examples of the use of abbreviations in texts. This research aims to describe the use of abbreviations in the novel Ancika by Pidi Baiq. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out using documentation techniques. The data analysis technique uses content analysis techniques. There were 77 abbreviation findings, including 23 abbreviations for abbreviations, 42 abbreviations for fragments, 4 abbreviations for acronyms, and 8 contraction abbreviations. By using the Ancika novel learning medium, students can find abbreviations in the novel; besides that, teachers can use the results of this research as additional material in Indonesian language learning, especially regarding abbreviation material. Data analysis in this research can help teachers provide explanations and examples of the use of abbreviations in literary texts.
