Organizar para socializar: a função social da mediação documentária

Critical review of the book “Organizar para socializer”. It locates the author, and informs her title, presents the chapters of the book in sufficient detail to identify their content, highlights the main authors cited in the review made by the author and makes specific criticisms of some excerpts. Two main aspects are worth highlighting: the emphasis on a bibliography in French that is not always known in Brazil, and the originality of the approach that systematizes the knowledge built on the organization of information, focusing on the production of documentary messages and navigation and search mechanisms as instruments of documentary communication that aim at the appropriation of information. The book constitutes an important resource for teaching and learning in the areas of Library Science, Documentation and Information Science.
