The photographer Alban Edvard Thorburn, (son of Robert Thorburn), 1862-1933 was a consul and a merchant. Alban employed both in Antwerp and Rochester. In Uddevalla he started i.a. the oil warehouse at Badö. He belonged to the city council in 1903-1916.
It can also be said that he was a very good connoisseur of old Uddevalla and Bohusländer. He was also a great outdoor man. We remember him from the bike ride with a high-wheeler he made with a comrade throughout Europe to Italy and again in the 1880s. We also remember him as great curling enthusiast along with Father Robert.
