Mit Haut und Haar

Ulla Hahn is one of the best-known German-language authors. After her success as a poet in the 1980s, beginning with “Herz über Kopf” (1981), she also made a name for herself as a prose writer, especially with her autobiographically based novel tetralogy, beginning with “Das verborgene Wort” (2001). The author has remained faithful to both genres to this day. The “Gesammelte Gedichte” (Collected Poems) appeared in 2013, only to present a volume of “Neue Gedichte aus zwanzig Jahren” (New Poems from Twenty Years) in 2021, titled “stille trommeln”. Her poems, which today belong to the core stock of contemporary German-language poetry, are the focus of the contributions in this volume, which date back to her time as the second Joseph Breitbach Poetics Lecturer in Koblenz.
