La société israélienne se fragmente. Quatre blocs y cohabitent plus ou moins paisiblement : les laïcs, les nationalistes-religieux, les ultra-orthodoxes et les Arabes. Chacun de ces blocs est représenté politiquement. Depuis plusieurs années, la droite – alliée à l’extrême droite – est au pouvoir. La popularité de Benjamin Netanyahou ne s’érode guère, malgré son implication supposée dans plusieurs affaires. Différents signaux laissent craindre une dérive illibérale d’Israël.
