A hairband is used exclusively by women to decorate the hair and head. \The multicolored hairband is woven according to the 'double-faced weft' technique (tapisserie): both front and back are identical. Woven on a hip loom, the pattern is woven into the warp either with the fingers or with a wooden or bone needle (to lift the warp threads); said to be the most difficult technique, partly because no use is made of a pattern holder.\ The weaving pattern consists of geometric figures and puppets.
