View through Europeana Collections
The patchwork of hexagons whose sides are about 2 cm long (small hexagons). Some of the patches are in turn jointed by two to three pieces. Cormorants sewn with sewing machine, but the patches are stitched together by hand. The material is side fabrics of different qualities, single colored, plaid, striped and patterned. The pattern is built of groups with four inward-lying patches in cultured fabrics against the bottom of black patches. The colors of the maroon fabrics are different red, red-blue (purple), brown, blue, blue-green and beige hues. Several of the fabrics are strongly luminous, the cover does not seem to be pale. Unpadded and unlined. In the extreme six edges there are fast-knitted paper templates. The paper is from old letters and newspapers. The years “1843” and “186?” (illegible) are visible. The dating took into account the later century. A big hole. Three major lags on one long side. Something mottled.
