Investigation of free vibration behavior of natural fiber laminate composite interleaved viscoelastic layer

View through CrossRef
Abstract The present article deals with the investigation of the dynamic characteristics of natural fiber laminate composite with viscoelastic layer beams. First of all, the laminate composite is fabricated with a viscoelastic layer as per the laminate configuration by using the hand lay-up technique. The mechanical properties are obtained with the help of the tensile test. In continuation, water absorption and x-ray diffraction analysis have been performed. In continuation, a numerical model is developed using the finite element method in ABAQUS to simulate the dynamic response of the laminate beam configuration under the various support conditions. The developed model has been validated with the existing literature, which demonstrates good agreement with the previous result that shows the accuracy and reliability of the finite element model. Furthermore, a parametric investigation is conducted to examine the impact of various parameters on the dynamic response of the laminate composite beam. This study can help in further development in the field of laminate composite interleaved viscoelastic layer structure and optimized engineering solutions.
