The book is inextricably – and from the very beginning – connected with the librarian. Byblos and the librarian constitute a tandem, duo, diad, to name only some of the most suitable designations for this connection. What meaning has the book in the librarian’s life – in his or her professional and extra-professional life? Is the librarian still the librarian after closing the library door? Who is the librarian within the domesticity, among his or her private book collections? The author tries to answer these or other questions and, as exemplum of the librarian, she mentions the figure of Ignacy Borejko from the cycle Jeżycjada of Małgorzata Musierowicz.
