STUDY OF MOLECULAR VIRULENCE FACTORS OF BRUCELLAISOLATES FOR VACCINE DEVELOPMENT
View through CrossRef
The article discusses brucellosis, an infectious disease affecting farm and wild animals that can be transmitted to humans through contact with infected animals or animal products. This zoonosis seriously threatens both agriculture and public health, especially in regions with developed livestock farms. Animal vaccination plays a critical role in containing the spread of brucellosis. Despite significant progress in vaccine development, their use raises specific concerns. In particular, there is a risk of side effects, such as causing abortions in pregnant animals, which can cause significant economic damage. In addition, some vaccines may threaten human health if safety precautions are not observed during production and use. Given these problems, there is a need for a detailed study of Brucella virulence factors to develop safer and more effective vaccines. The article proposes using modern molecular genetics methods, including whole-genome sequencing, to achieve this goal. This method allows the identification of variations in Brucella virulence genes and their comparison with data from publicly available virulence factor databases. This approach provides a more detailed understanding of the pathogenesis of brucellosis. The studied virulence genes can be used to develop new, safer, and more effective vaccines against brucellosis. These vaccines can minimize the risks for both animals and humans and ultimately lead to a significant decrease in the incidence of this dangerous disease.
