Visitor Management System (VMS-AI)
View through CrossRef
Managing visitor security and monitoring remains a major organizational challenge despite advancements in digital infrastructure and smart administrative technologies. This paper presents a web-based Visitor Management System (VMS-AI) developed using React.js, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB to provide secure and efficient visitor handling. The developed system enables visitors to perform QR-based digital check-in/check-out, allows administrators and security personnel to monitor visitor activity in real time, and maintains centralized digital records for improved operational management. JWT-based authentication and database services are utilized for secure access control, cloud-based data storage, and real-time synchronization, ensuring fast and reliable monitoring during visitor operations. The application is designed with an intuitive interface to ensure accessibility for users with varying technical expertise. Unlike traditional visitor management methods that rely heavily on manual logbooks, the system incorporates machine learning-based visitor prediction using Linear Regression to estimate visitor traffic trends and peak visiting hours. The system is being developed considering the operational requirements of the SP Office, Sangli, while focusing on rapid processing, continuous monitoring, and operational simplicity.
