The Sean North, Sean South and Sean East Fields, Block 49/25a, UK North Sea
View through CrossRef
Abstract
Sean North, Sean South and Sean East are small prolific gas fields located on the Indefatigable Shelf in the Southern North Sea. They, like most of the other fields in the area, have a Carboniferous source, a Rotliegend aeolian sandstone reservoir and a Zechstein evaporite cap rock. Sean North and South have been developed to fulfil a peak-shaving role, being produced for only a few days per year in times of high gas demand when they can produce at rates of up to 600 MMSCF/D. East Sean is sold to the direct market. Reserves for the fields are 234 BCF (North), 488 BCF (South) and 127 BCF (East).
