Compound anthroponyms

The study of Azerbaijani anthroponyms helps us understand the rich history and cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people. Most anthroponyms are formed from commonly used words in language. The ways of forming anthroponyms, reflecting ancient Azerbaijani personal names, are identical to other lexical units in the language.
Three ways of word formation – lexical, morphological, and syntactic – are also manifested in
the formation of anthroponyms. This article examines the ways of forming compound anthroponyms.
