Ku nowoczesnemu republikanizmowi w latach Sejmu Czteroletniego? Analiza pism przypisywanych Janowi Baudouinowi de Courtenay

The article analyses the political thought presented in the Poparcie Uwag nad życiem Jana Zamoyskiego [“In Support of the Remarks on the Life of Jan Zamoyski”] and in the Bezstronne uwagi nad mową j.w. Jezierskiego [“Impartial Remarks on the Speech of Sir Jezierski”]. Although Władysław Konopczyński attributed both works to Jan Baudouin de Courtenay, later researchers did not conclude the authorship of the first text. This analysis juxtaposes the arguments presented in these two writings and evaluates the consistency of the emerging original position of their author. As a result, it will show that the basic assumptions supporting the calls for social reform are similar or identical. However, because the second text does not thoroughly develop one of its key themes, it undermines the republicanism of its overall message.
