Marcantonio Magno’s Emblem: New Considerations

The article examines the complex iconography of Marcantonio Magno’s personal emblem and identifies its sources. It also proposes a new explanation of its meaning that differs from those expressed up to now. This engraving appears in some works published in Venice between 1545 and 1557. The words of the motto andare The Image correspond each other andare create a refined symbolism.
