Գրքում ներկայացվում են պատմաբան, ձեռագրագետ Արտաշես Մաթևոսյանի (1922-2004) ձեռագրագիտական և պատմաբանասիրական հոդվածները և ուսումնասիրությունները նվիրված հայերեն ձեռագիր մատյանին և գրչության արվեստին, գրչության կենտրոններին, հիշատակարաններին, նշանավոր ձեռագրերին (1000-ամյա թղթյա ձեռագիր, «Մշո Ճառընտիր», «Թարգմանչաց Ավետարան», «Հեթումի Ճաշոց»), ինչպես նաև՝ Կորյունի «Վարք Մաշտոցի» երկին, Մովսես Խորենացու «Հայոց պատմության» Չորրորդ գրքին, Անանիա Շիրակացու «Քննիկոնին», Գլաձորի համալսարանին և այլն։ Նախատեսված է հայոց պատմությամբ ու մշակույթով զբաղվող մասնագետների և ընթերցող լայն հասարակայնության համար։
