Статья посвящена отображению событий и реалий древнего и античного Ирана в миниатюрной живописи страны XIV-XV вв. н.э. Такие реалии представлены изобразительными сюжетами на изделиях сасанидской торевтики (III-VII вв.), официальными коронами сасанидских правителей на серебряных монетах, историческими преданиями и легендами, собранными в пехлевийской «Хвадай-намаг» (VII в.) и сохранившимися в поэме Фирдоуси «Шах-наме» (Х в.).
