An Observational Study on the relationship between Ayurvedokta Sukha and Happiness in different Dhatu Sarata using Oxford Happiness Scale

Ayurveda is a holistic healing science that emphasizes the balance between the body, mind, and spirit to achieve overall well-being and health. It is based on the belief that every individual is unique and that their health is influenced by the interactions between the body, mind, and the environment they live in. Sukha refers to happiness, comfort, and ease. Happiness is equated with feeling of pleasure or contentment. In Ayurveda, Sukha refers to happiness, comfort, and ease. As opined by Tark Sangrah “Sarvesham Anukool Vedniyam Sukham”. The concept of happiness or Sukha is interconnected with the balance and health of all Dhatu Saratas. Dhatus are constantly undergoing metabolic processes, which involve the nourishment and transformation of one dhatu into another. This sequential process of transformation is called Dhatu Sarata. Happiness or Sukha is said to be experienced when these Dhatus are in a state of equilibrium and are functioning optimally Happiness is equated with feeling pleasure or contentment. The concept of happiness or Sukha is interconnected with the balance and health of all Dhatu Saratas. This observational study investigates the quality of Sukha or Happiness in subjects with different Dhatu Sarata in which quality of Sukha is present according to Acharya Charaka. A total of 150 healthy participants, aged 20 to 40 years were taken. Subjects were selected randomly but data were collected in a controlled environment, Using MUHS (Maharastra University of Health Sciences) Dhatu Sarata proforma. Pravar, Madhyam, Avar state of Dhatu were calculated and then by using Oxford’s Happiness Scale, happiness score was calculated. The collected data were analysed using and result was concluded using suitable statistical test. After which a significant association found between different Dhatu Sarata and Sukha or happiness.
