Pair of children's shoes, grey topstitched cloth with leather sole, patent leather toecap and buttons, England, ca. 1851. Pair of child's shoes, the upper of grey cloth with squared toecap of black patent leather and unit sole of undyed leather; all open edges are bound with grey silk. Each shoe has an ankle strap and also a side-fastening flap to the side of the vamp, all of which fasten with small pearlized buttons and stitched buttonholes.  Topstitched cloth, with leather sole and patent leather toecap.
