Sisyphus Dispossessed: A Physician Loses His Stammer

The author discusses the psychotherapy process of a client who entered therapy due to psychological suffering caused by a substantial stammer. The client's speech impediment started when he was 8 years old. The author relates the client's story to the myth of Sisyphus from two perspectives: The first is the significance of the problem and the second is the ability to transform any situation by acceptance or surrender to it. By the end of their work the patient's speech impediment had completely disappeared.
