Chondroid Syringoma: A Rare Lower Lid Tumor
View through CrossRef
Chondroid syringoma is a very rare primary skin tumor that accounts for just 0.01%–0.1% of all skin malignancies. Although it is highly common in the head-and-neck region, eyelid involvement is extremely unusual. A total of 27 occurrences of chondroid syringoma have been reported affecting the ocular adnexa. It is uncommon in periorbital tissues and is typically tiny in size. They are usually about 0.5–3 cm in size, and there is an increased risk of malignancy in tumors larger than 3 cm. Here, we present a case of a chondroid syringoma in the lower eyelid.
