Parménid ali Parmeníd: Pravda, ki sploh ni črkarska

Jeziki, ki so grške tujke in imena neposredno ali posredno prevzemali prek latinščine, grška imena praviloma naglašajo po latinsko. Pravilo ima celo v italijanščini veliko izjem, vendar se je v primeru dublet vsaj v akademskih krogih uveljavilo kot norma (t. i. lex Perrottae). Po drugi strani pa je v literarnih prevodih grško naglašanje grških imen pogosto. Prevajalci se h grškemu naglasu ne zatekajo samo metri causa. Često gre za zavestno izbiro, za evokativni, komemorativni vpis imena v njegovem izvornem zvenu. Primeri tega so že pri rimskem epiku Eniju. Dilema torej ni samo pravopisna. V duhu teorije govornih dejanj lahko nezaznamovani latinski naglas povežemo z denotativno, grškega pa s performativno, »obredno« rabo. Avtor prispevka meni, da je v vsakdanji, »sekularni« rabi latinski naglas edina zgodovinsko utemeljena zdravorazumska izbira, v literarnih prevodih pa je treba dopustiti večjo svobodo.
