HYDROPS: MRI Technique and Pitfalls in the assessment of Meniere’s Disease

View through CrossRef
Motivation: Delayed gadolinium-enhanced HYDROPS MRI has become a reliable method for visualising endolymphatic hydrops (EH), which is recognised as the primary pathophysiological cause of Meniere's disease. Goal(s): To highlight key considerations when performing HYDROPS sequences in a clinical setting for assessing Meniere's disease. Approach: This discussion covers the technical aspects of conducting HYDROPS sequences including potential pitfalls and the associated benefits. Results: The delayed enhancement patterns identified through HYDROPS imaging can aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of Meniere's disease, ultimately supporting better patient management and care. Impact: Delayed gadolinium-enhanced HYDROPS MRI is an emerging technique that can be used in clinical practice to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of Meniere's disease, ultimately supporting improved patient care.
