O presente trabalho investiga a representação da mulher cangaceira a partir da personagem Maria Bonita, da peça Lampião (1953) de Rachel de Queiroz. A personagem é analisada a partir de um contexto de estereotipia de representação do Nordeste e, ainda que, inicialmente, ela apareça valente e insubmissa, muda ao longo da peça e padece de situações de violência contra a mulher. Como referenciais teóricos são utilizados, principalmente, Adriana Negreiros (2018) e Durval Muniz de Albuquerque Júnior (2017).
