IMAGINATIVE AND STYLISTIC INTERPRETATION OF THE ARCHITECTURAL MOTIVES IN ANATOLIY KALYTKO'S ARTWORKS

The Honoured Artist of Ukraine Anatoliy Kalytko is a citizen of a small town of Kosiv and a representative of the realistic school of painting. The painter creates pictures of different genres but the landscapes prevail among them. This article is an attempt to investigate the depiction of architecture in Anatoliy Kalytko’s landscapes. The emphasis is made on the artistic and ethnographical value of the paintings. General scientific and art-based methods of investigation are applied in the article. Artistic peculiarities of the landscape paintings and the painter’s skillfulness in delineation are also examined here. Special attention is drawn to the manner of arranging the elements of the pictures and their coloration. Regional peculiarities and stylistic rendering are highlighted, the landscape paintings with architectural elements being systemized and analyzed. Anatoliy Kalatko’s pictures made the basis of the study. Key words: Anatoliy Kalytko, artist, landscape, architecture, architectural motives, ethnography.
