Bonad

433 Technology 1 * DOUBLE ROAD
Rectangular bonade of dark brown wool yarn and unbleached loom, both homemade. The bonade is a reconstruction. The stretcher is patterned with crystal monograms surrounded by flowers, in squares. In the middle mirror are stylized flower pots, with rhomboidal flowers? and birds sitting next to the flowers. The motifs are placed in vertical rows, extreme towards the stretcher there are only half pattern motifs.
Frances of the warp, first braided about 2 cm, then joined together two and two of the same material (flax by itself, wool by itself) to fringes with about 14 cm long strands. The cable fringes are at the top of the right side.
On the back are two labels; a light blue of paper from the General Swedish District Agriculture Meeting in Axvall 1935, where the bonade was exhibited by the Göteborgs and Bohusläns Hemslöjdsförening, a fastened shiny fabric label with the text: Kopia The subject’s species o denomination: Bonad “The pots,” in the butcher Kristusmonogram. Technology o Size: Finn tissue 1.85 x 1 m. Material: Lin o Wool both both both staged and spun.
Manufacturer: Tora Ivarsson, Stordal, Stenkyrken, Tjörns Härad, Bohusländer.
Owner: Uddevalla museum Purchased 1934.
The paper label is entitled “The name of technology” “The pots (the little ones).” On the back there is also a second paper patch with a lacquer stamp “UDDEVALLA MUSEUM.”
Hole after insect attack in the wool layer over much of the bonade, the wool yarn bitwise away. Bleached.
