A consequence of the diligent skiing of the Sami at the time, it became very skilled skiers, as was also shown in the price lists from the ski competitions held at that time. Now in the time of the snowmobile, well the skiing for the Sami has come to light. This image from 1936 is taken on Hans Jonsas farm in Stråalen, where the Sami on the skis show up after a felled ski competition. The second man from the right on skis appears to be the victor of this competition, as he proudly has a victory wreath around his neck. His name is Tomas Thomasson The contestants are exclusively Sami, as well as the spectators who appear to be mostly male people, have here spiritually set themselves up for photogermination. A lot of known profiles among both Sami and Strådalsbor can be found in this picture. We mention only one out of the pile, the fourth from the left is the famous John Fjällgren from Anådalen. Tasks: Ola Näslund, Lofsdalen, 1983.
