Synthesis and application of M-BTC (M = Fe, Ni, Mn) materials as highly efficient photocatalyst in the photocatalytic degradation of reactive yellow 145 dye
View through CrossRef
In this study, we synthesized a series of metal organic frameworks (MOFs) of 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate (M-BTC), where M = Fe2+, Ni2+ and Mn2+ by hydrothermal treatment with a microwave assisted method. M-BTC samples were characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM and BET. SEM-image result showed nano M-BTC particles size of 20-40 nm. Samples M-BTC showed the high surface area (1301 m2/g) and pore volume (1.12 cm3/g). The samples M-BTC were tested for the photocatalytic degradation of reactive dye (Reactive Yellow 145) in water. The M-BTC materials exhibited high photocatalytic activity. Thus, at the pH of 6.5 and the high initial concentration of 100 mg RY-145/L, removal efficiency reached the value of 98.63% after 120 min reaction. Moreover, nanomaterial Fe-BTC also showed high RY-145 dye removal efficiency after 4 catalytic regeneration.

Description:
In this study, we synthesized a series of metal organic frameworks (MOFs) of 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate (M-BTC), where M = Fe2+, Ni2+ and Mn2+ by hydrothermal treatment with a microwave assisted method.
M-BTC samples were characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM and BET.
SEM-image result showed nano M-BTC particles size of 20-40 nm.
Samples M-BTC showed the high surface area (1301 m2/g) and pore volume (1.
12 cm3/g).
The samples M-BTC were tested for the photocatalytic degradation of reactive dye (Reactive Yellow 145) in water.
The M-BTC materials exhibited high photocatalytic activity.
Thus, at the pH of 6.
5 and the high initial concentration of 100 mg RY-145/L, removal efficiency reached the value of 98.
63% after 120 min reaction.
Moreover, nanomaterial Fe-BTC also showed high RY-145 dye removal efficiency after 4 catalytic regeneration.
