Preliminary report on the atmospheric potential‐gradient recorded at the Apia Observatory, Western Samoa, May 1922 to April 1924
View through CrossRef
The paper gives preliminary summaries of the atmospheric potential‐gradient data from continuous records obtained, under the auspices of the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism of the Carnegie Institution of Washington, at the Apia Observatory for two years during May 1922 to April 1924. The diurnal variation in the potential‐gradient is determined from those days on which no negative potential occurred and its outstanding features are two maxima at about 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., local mean time.
