The Coherence Emergence Identity Model (CEIM) Continuity of Self: Attention, Memory, and Identity in the CEIM Framework

This manuscript develops the dynamical component of the Coherence-Emergence Identity Model (CEIM), extending the Sensory-Meaning-Behaviour (SMB) cycle introduced in Paper 1. Within paper 1, the SMB cycle established the minimal cognitive ordering through which meaning is assigned to salient sensory signals, prior to our frame of awareness and following which our behaviour emerges. Consequently, CEIM formalises the internal dynamics that drive the SMB cycle and allows for updating our emerging sense of self over the course of time. In CEIM, attention is a trajectory through coherence space, memory is fractal basin re-entry, meaning is learned interpretation shaped by Meanture (the system's slow-changing meaning-structure), and working memory is the stabilised Global Self-State (GSS) attractor accessible to awareness. The framework specifies how ℱ⁻ (temporal compression) and ℳ⁺ (spatial integration) polarity operators govern identity evolution across a spatial-temporal axis, and how coherence thresholds determine stability, collapse, and neurodivergent variation. Together with the SMB cycle, CEIM provides a unified mechanistic model of identity emergence as both structure (Paper 1) and dynamics (Paper 2), yielding testable predictions across behavioural, physiological, and neuroimaging domains.
