An original Letter of Georges Cuvier to Charles Bell: 1832, january 24th about the models of anatomy in “papier mâché” by the Dr Auzoux

A unique, original (1832, january 24th) letter written by Georges Cuvier to Charles Bell about the models of anatomy in “papier mâché” by the Dr Auzoux belonged in november 2015 to the Scientific Library Alain Brieux ‐Gillot in Paris. We have translated this letter in english and analyzed the relationships between Cuvier and Bell which were celebrities of their times. This presentation of Dr Auzoux who travelled in England in 1832 to the english intelligentsia was a great help for the international development of his young firm (Saint Aubin d'Escroville and Paris). His production in “papier mâché” largely dismantled (clastic anatomy) was mainly human, animal but also plant's anatomical models always in accordance with the scientific knowledge of his time.
