Signature available, but not deciphered, album with leaves of Yoshitoshi, in which old stories and legends from Japan are reproduced in a humorous way. Washing day at the thunder god. On her back her crying child. In the Cologne exhibition catalog a list of signatures of Yoshitoshi, in which the one used here also appears with the remark “chūban-series: ‘Grotesken aus der japan. Geschichte’ (probably published in book form)” and the dating “1881/82” (cf. Lit: Cologne 1971, p. 59).
