Enhancing Entrepreneurship Spirit through Sewing Training for PKK Community

The Socorejo government is accompanied and supported by PT Semen Indonesia in building and developing BUMDes programs, one of which is the procurement of sewing houses for PKK community. With the holding of the sewing house, it is hoped that the potential of community can be empowered properly through their sewing skills, but in reality, the empowerment of the sewing house is idle for a long time. With this problem, sewing training was held for PKK community so that their skills and enthusiasm increased and they were motivated to become entrepreneurs. Therefore, the purpose of this community service (sewing training) is to find out: the initial ability and enthusiasm of PKK community before and after attending the training, as well as to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in the sewing training. This activity applied methods of theory, practice, observation, and interviews. The results and conclusions of this activity are: the initial ability and enthusiasm of PKK community before attending the training was still lacking. Then after participating in the training, the participants' abilities and enthusiasm had increased. The supporting factors in this activity are: the basic sewing skills possessed by participants made it easier for them to attend training, and the availability of sewing machine and overlock machine grants from PT Semen Indonesia had facilitated the participants. However, the inhibiting factor in this activity is that more than 50% of the available sewing machines could not be operated / damaged.
