Abstract: This article aims at the presentation of the book entitled "The Advertising Argumentation", written by the two emeritus professors Adam Jean-Michel and Marc Bonhomme. This report outlines aspects related to the structure of the advertising discourse and its constituents. The work in question is also interested in the communication and reading paths of the advertising image and the approaches to take for a good grasp of the iconic argument. The two linguists discussed the question of the rhetoric of advertising argumentation and the different strategies used for putting text in advertising communicative context with an argumentative aim. The primary objective of this article is to pay tribute to the authors of this reference and to enable students and researchers to discover the richness and complexity of communication and advertising discourse.
Résumé : Cet article vise la présentation de l'ouvrage intitulé " L'argumentation publicitaire ", écrit par les deux professeurs émérites Adam Jean-Michel et Marc Bonhomme. Ce compte rendu expose les aspects liés à la structure du discours publicitaire et ses constituants. L'ouvrage en question s'intéresse également à la communication et aux parcours de lecture de l'image publicitaire et aux approches à appréhender pour une bonne appréhension de l'argumentation iconique. Les deux linguistes ont évoqué la question de la rhétorique de l'argumentation publicitaire et les différentes stratégies employées pour la mise en texte en contexte communicationnel publicitaire à visée argumentative. L'objectif premier de cet article vise à rendre hommage aux auteurs de cette référence et de permettre aux étudiants comme aux chercheurs de découvrir la richesse et la complexité de la communication et du discours publicitaire.
