Illustration of Border Ornament, copied from a mural painting in Caves 435 (Northern Zhou: 557-581AD), Cave 420 (Sui dynasty: 581-618 AD), Cave 79 (High Tang: 712-781 AD) and Cave 197 (Middle Tang: 781-848 AD) in Mogao, near Dunhuang in Gansu province. Three of them are painted by Auyang Lin. The one in Cave 79 is painted by Huang Wen-fu. Printed in colour on paper.
