Group Dynamics as a Determinant of Empowerment Program Achievement among Former Migrant Workers

View through CrossRef
There are several issues related to group dynamics within the Former Migrant Worker (TKI Purna) group in Majasari Village, including a decline in the number of active members, low participation in group activities, and limited entrepreneurial success achieved only by a small portion of the members. Therefore, it is essential to conduct further research on group dynamics among the TKI Purna group in Majasari Village. The objectives of this study are: (1) to describe the group dynamics of TKI Purna, (2) to describe the outcomes of the empowerment program, and (3) to analyze the relationship between group dynamics and the empowerment outcomes of TKI Purna. This research adopts an explanatory research design with a quantitative approach. The study location was determined purposively. The analytical tools used were descriptive statistical analysis and Spearman rank correlation analysis. The results indicate that the group dynamics of TKI Purna remain at a moderate level, with a score of 73.61%. The achievement level of the TKI Purna empowerment program is also categorized as moderate, with a score of 63.33%, suggesting that many group members have not yet utilized their acquired skills for entrepreneurial activities due to constraints such as limited time and capital. The correlation between group dynamics and the empowerment outcomes of TKI Purna shows a coefficient value of 0.585 with a significance level of 0.017, indicating a positive and statistically significant relationship between group dynamics and the success of the empowerment program.
