Dyfuzja grup nazw miejscowych na Kurpiach Zielonych

The monograph is devoted to the spread of place name groups in Kurpie Zielone from the perspective of the theory of diffusion of innovations. The author established the etymology of almost 200 oikonyms and conducted their semantic-etymological classification, separating five groups of names: possessive, ancestral, relational, topographic and cultural. Taking into account the historical, cultural and geographical context allowed for identification of diffusion directions of place name groups and types of the diffusion process: continuous, expansive and relocational. The approach used by the author enriches existing knowledge with a unique perspective combining geography, language and history of the Kurpie Zielone ethnographic region.
