CH-Like Stars

Abstract
CH-like stars are red carbon stars of early types. Their spectra show a close resemblance to those of CH stars, typical high-velocity carbon stars of population II, but their radial velocities and proper motions show no indication of high velocity. Their spectra also show a close resemblance to the spectra of Ba ii stars with enhanced carbon features found by macconnell et al. (1972). The properties of CH-like stars are discussed in relation to other types of carbon stars and other types of peculiar stars of late types. The number of CH-like stars found thus far at Okayama amounts to 16. This number may be compared with 16 CH stars and 33 ordinary carbon stars of C0–C3.

CH-like stars are red carbon stars of early types.
