Écfrasis, erotismo y fin de siglo: Joris-Karl Huysmans y Gustave Moreau

En À rebours (1884) de Joris-Karl Huysmans, el protagonista Jean des Esseintes realiza un camino hacia el interior: se encierra formalmente en su casa y restringe el arte a un interior en su defensa contra el exterior, el mundo de los negocios de una burguesía capitalista orientada hacia la utilidad y el valor de uso. En estos espacios interiores, diferentes mundos, diferentes artes, diferentes experiencias, sensaciones y percepciones sensoriales se superponen y entran en contacto entre sí, potenciando conjuntamente sus efectos y estableciendo un mundo de sinestesia artística. A través de “L’Apparition” de Gustave Moreau de 1876 analizaremos cómo Huysmans nos presenta un espectáculo pirotécnico de écfrasis, es decir, de transposición literaria de textos icónicos al lenguaje (escrito) con sutileza.
