Abstract Anne Kingsmill was born at Sydmonton, Hampshire in April 1661, the month of King Charles H’s Coronation. Her parents, Sir William Kingsmill and Anne Haslewood, were both members of old and respected Royalist gentry families. They had married in 1654, and Sir William, unlike many of his contemporaries, was able to keep most of his land intact during the Interregnum.
