Numerical study on the evaporation process of binary droplets in the smoke agent system
View through CrossRef
This study employs computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to investigate the evaporation process of the smoke agent system consisting of propylene glycol (PG) and water, aiming to explore the selective evaporation phenomenon and its key influencing factors during the smoking process. The results show that: (1) In the free evaporation process of the binary droplets, due to the differences in evaporation temperatures of the components, the component with a lower evaporation temperature dominates the evaporation process, exhibiting distinct selective evaporation characteristics; (2) Increasing the heating temperature of the base plate and the initial water content significantly enhances the evaporation rate; (3) In a porous medium, the evaporation rate of the smoke agent increases significantly, and increasing the porosity can effectively improve the evaporation rate. These findings provide theoretical support for regulating the evaporation behavior of smoke agents and improving smoke output.
